AIRLINES
The International Airport of Mexico City has daily connections from most capitals and cities such as: Paris, Rome, Madrid, Munich, London, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam. There are also daily direct flights from Tokio-Narita, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Other regional and low cost airlines have flights into Mexico City International Airport, or Toluca International Airport.
Please note that if you arrive at Toluca International Airport, the trip to Mexico City takes two hours. Most regional airlines use this airport, although in some cases they fly directly to Mexico City..
Some of the airlines mentioned above and a few more also fly direct from European capitals to Cancun International Airport and offer a connection from Cancun to Mexico City. This is the case of a couple of Russian Airlines.
In any case, we recommend that, upon arrival to Mexico City International, you take an authorized taxi from the airport to your accommodation. Taxis cost between 10 and 30 Euros per trip, and are comfortable and safe.
For those who prefer a cheaper service, Terminal 2 of Mexico City Airport offers a direct bus to the city downtown, which costs about 2 euros If your plane arrives at Terminal 1, you can take a monorail that drops you off at Terminal 2.
TAXI
If you want to take a taxi on the street, make sure the card data matches the plate and numbers. Drivers are used to this scrutiny, so they don’t bother about it.
You can also use Uber or use other rideshare apps, but there is an ongoing controversy with those services using airport facilities, so please note their availability on the day of your arrival.
As before, all ride sharing services are available in Mexico City, so you can use them as well.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Once in Mexico City, the best way to move around is the MetroBus and Metro networks. They’re safe, huge, simple to navigate and extremely cheap. Very crowded at times, though.

If your country requires visa, please contact the closest Mexican Embassy or Consulate as soon as possible for all the necessary paperwork. Most countries that need a visa to enter Mexico will also need a specific “invitation letter” from Filmoteca UNAM to come to Congress. Let us know as soon as possible if you need it for us to send it to you via email.

SECURITY
The area we’ll be working on (and in the surrounding hotels) is very safe. Most merchants, pedestrians and police officers know it well and will help you get to your destination.
In collaboration with the Metropolitan Police we will establish a “safe route” that will appear on the maps of the final program. This means that police officers and their superiors will be informed about our event and its participants to prevent any from going astray.

Most hotels in downtown Mexico City are full of tourists on weekends, so please keep this in mind and book in advance. Most of the hotels include a buffet breakfast in the reservation but in the area abound all kinds of restaurants and eateries that cater tastes and pockets from the exquisite to the Spartan.
