Since its premiere, El suavecito has been registered as a film that broke into the good consciences of viewers to show the hard face of crime, the seduction of the city and the danger of the night. Víctor Parra plays Roberto “El cinturita”, that male without qualities according to the definition of Carlos Monsiváis, a character who arrived in cinemas reluctantly. Its premiere was postponed and initially denied since several officials saw in its scenes unnecessary violence and discredit of the so careful image of the city and the country.
